Counterfactual (“what if?”) thinking refers to the ability to reflect on events in the past to imagine how things could have turned out differently. The Interdisciplinary Workshop on Counterfactual Reasoning will bring together researchers who study counterfactual thinking from various disciplines and from around the globe. Over two days, the workshop will include a series of invited talks, a poster session, and several coffee breaks for informal discussion. Established and emerging scholars from the fields of Psychology, Philosophy, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Informatics, and Management will comprise our invited program. The poster session is open to submissions on topics related to the workshop topic (e.g., imagination, reasoning, fiction), and is included to encourage submissions from students in particular.
